The Runnin' Utes gained some support in the backcourt on Tuesday with the transfer commitment of Miro Little from Baylor. The 6-foot-4 freshman guard originally is from Finland and represented the national team in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. The former Baylor Bear played in 34 of 35 games last season coming off the bench, averaging 7 minutes per game.

What Utah Is Getting

Little was part of a loaded guard roster and did not play a ton in Waco or put up crazy numbers, but he did see action in nearly every game. In his five games for the Finnish national team, he averaged 5.0 points and 4.6 assists per game in the World Cup. He comes highly recommended from his former coach and Ute-great Hanno Mottola.

He now will be part of the effort to fill Devion Smith's shoes after Smith transferred out of the program. Little brings good size and athleticism to the point guard spot and he was a 4-star recruit as a prospect in the Rivals150 for the 2024 class.

Little gives good versatility on both ends of the floor and was a decent shooter in his limited attempts, shooting 36% from long-distance.

What This Means For The Class

Little joins two other former Rivals150 players, stretch-big Keanu Dawes and forward Zach Keller. Utah has the addition of Gabe Madsen’s brother Mason. With Jaxon Johnson and David Katoa both signed but slated for LDS missions, Utah has five more spots to fill after the addition of Little and Dawes.

Craig Smith’s biggest challenge will be finding some to fill Keba Keita’s shoes.
