Semifinals set for Peach Jam

North Augusta, S.C.- The 17-under field at the NIKE Peach Jam has been whittled down to four teams going into the final day of the event. On Saturday afternoon, the Mean Streets Express square off with Boo Williams and the SYF Players will take on the Illinois Warriors.

Illinois Warriors 77, Team Final 69

Known for working their way into the final day of tournaments, the Illinois Warriors made their way to the final four of the NIKE Peach Jam, largely due to the leadership of point guard Aaron Johnson. Playing another strong game, Johnson went for 14 points, 9 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.

Post player Brandon McGee had a double/double performance of 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Team Final point guard Tyreke Evans ended his top flight tournament performance with a 27 point, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks and 6 turnover output before going down with a sprained ankle late in the game.

Memphis commitment Jeff Robinson has also had a strong tournament for Team Final and in his last game scored 23 points.

Boo Williams 61, Houston Hoops 56

Looking for a repeat Peach Jam championship, Boo Williams overcame a slow start against the Houston Hoops, using a trapping defense all over the court to pull out a win in the latter minutes of the game.

In a match up of high energy post up players Gary Johnson and Patrick Patterson, Johnson got the better in the scoring column with 24 points and Patterson got the better in the rebounding column with 12 rebounds.

Jai Lucas put up 11 points in the loss.

Mean Streets 51, Athletes First 45

Eric Gordon fell just a little short of his tournament leading 25.8 scoring percentage, leading Mean Streets with 23 points. Gordon used his physical athleticism to come up with hard earned points in the lane. He also snagged 6 rebounds and dished out 3 assists.

Contributing 12 points, Derrick Rose was impressive in other ways than scoring, registering 4 assists, 4 rebounds and 4 steals.

2009 Oklahoma commitment Kyle Hardrick led Athletes First with 13 points and 9 rebounds.

Blake Griffin, another Oklahoma commitment in the 2007 class, had 10 points and 8 rebounds.

SYF Players 70, Portland Elite Legends 66

Greg Hill came off the bench to lead the SYF Players with 23 points. Scott martin played a strong defensive game while scoring 16 points, and E'twaun Moore contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
