BIO NOTES

2008 (Senior): Appeared in all 13 games … one reception for seven yards came against Weber Sate … saw a lot of action on special teams … six punt returns for 44 yards—a 7.3 average … had four punt returns for 49 yards against UNLV … nine tackles on special teams included two stops against BYU … lettered.

2007 (Junior): Could not practice or play due to back problems.

2006 (Sophomore): Could not practice or play due to back problems.

2005 (Freshman): Played in six games total, including the first five games of the season and the final game (the Emerald Bowl) ... all of his tackles were on special teams ... three total tackles ... two solo stops against TCU. 2004-Redshirt injured his knee in preseason camp and had surgery ... named to the Utah Athletics Academic Honor Roll.

Personal: Granted a sixth year of eligibility due to injuries that have cost him three seasons.

Son of Dan and Claudia Peel ... father played football and mother played tennis and ran track at Northern Illinois ... mother now runs marathons ... one sister ... received a degree in economics in December 2008 and will begin work on a second bachelor's degree this fall ... full name is Jonathon Daniel Peel ... born May 9, 1986 in Bloomington, Ind.
