Have Ball, Will Travel
When you think of Canada, most people think of hockey. But things might start changing with a slow trickle of talented basketball stars lighting up the main stage here in the US. One of those bright young stars is Junior Cadougan who currently lives in Humble, TX playing for The Christian Life Center. The 6-foot-2 170-pound Toronto native has traveled the continent looking to get his name out to as many schools as possible. When he's not playing for the rising Grassroots Canada AAU team, he is anchoring the point for the Canadian National Junior team.
This spring has been a breakthrough one for the Grassroots Canada team comprised of mostly Ontario-based basketball players. Grassroots coach and founder Ro Russell spoke about the team's recent success and Cadougan's contributions,
Ever since moving to the US, there has been a steady stream of college scouts following Cadougan everywhere he played. The active list of teams recruiting the talented guard is lengthy and includes heavyweights in Texas, LSU, Illinois, UConn, Washington, USC, Texas A&M and Georgia. According to Cadougan, he holds offers from Texas A&M, Baylor, and Louisana Tech.
